How I Work Out My Rates
I don’t charge per word because copy and content writing are so much more than just words. There certainly isn’t any one-size-fits-all copywriting.
With in-depth research targeted to your audience and customers, my copy and content writing is accurate, engaging and informative. Time spent researching is time well spent when it comes to money-making copy.
Formatting for your audience is another important area of copy and content writing. I format text for easy readability and in a style that suits your business and your customers.
A single spelling mistake can make potential customers click away from your website. Simple grammatical errors are big red flags for your audience so I make sure that all my content and copy is error free.
If you’ve got website copy already but are concerned about spellings and grammar errors, I can also provide affordable editing services.
All my copy and content includes working with you on the brief, the necessary research, audience and company analysis, high quality writing, editing and proofreading. Small rewrites are also included and tight turnarounds can be arranged.
Web Copy: For individual web pages including company About pages, rates start from £100.
Blog Posts: Depending on length, complexity and subject, blog posts are priced between £45 and £300. Increasingly, Google is looking down on short blog posts and rewarding sites with long form blog posts. These blog posts aren’t full of waffle to make them longer and are instead in-depth, educational, interesting to read and often evergreen.
Project: For complex, lengthy or mixed service projects I can provide you with project rates. However, because all companies and brands are different and require different services, it’s much easier for me to provide you with an email quote based on your individual needs.
Day: My day rate is £300 for remote working and I can be flexible and affordable if needed in-house for periods of time.
You get what you pay for
You could use a content mill like UpWork, Fiverr or oDesk and you might be able to buy 1000 word blog posts for £5. Those blog posts won’t be good quality, won’t earn you an audience or more customers and certainly won’t be tailored to your company.
In fact, 99% of the time they won’t even be original articles, just re-spun work with your keyword.
